David grew up in Maine, on the coast and 'round a small lake in Rangeley. That's where he ran wild. It was after one long day of building the family cabin that David made his first campfire, no doubt. With no electricity, no running water, and only a weekly trip to town, it was a perfect place for a kid to grow wild.
Later David moved to the big city ( NYC ) until 20 years later when the mountains called him back. He now lives in The Catskills. (Ah-Woooo!) When he’s not thinking about a new book, David works as a graphic designer. His work has been seen around the world and in the permanent collection of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum (oh, my).
David tours all over the country with book events for groups large and small. He's presented twice at The Eric Carle Museum, taught week long story classes at The Center of Imagination in Pittsburgh, and has been a guest artist at the Provincetown Family Week and the Parnassus Books Teacher Conference in Nashville.
